Mixed bag of animal supplies

It was amazing to collect this mixed bag of animal supplies. Thank you so very much Paw Justice and Pet.co.nz ?

Having catered for the chickens under our own umbrella, we were able to share the surplus food with The Roost rooster sanctary in Puhoi, and with the Animal Sanctuary in Matakana.

A win for the animals and a wonderful relief for our charities. Please never stop supporting animal rescue organizations. Your work is as vital as ours. ?

Anonymous Donor Pays off our Outstanding Vet Bills

?? OUR VET BILLS ARE ALL PAID UP ??

What a lovely way for our charity to start the New Year!

Our outstanding vet bills immediately dropped from $7,465.15 to zero, when one of our longstanding supporters paid them off in full. This is only the second time in 23 years that our balance has been out of the red. (Thank you so much to our patient veterinarians).

We are so relieved and grateful, and in awe of this loyal donor, who has asked to remain anonymous. If you are reading this, please know that we and the animals we work with, love and appreciate you. ? ********

We already have a dozen animals lined up for vet visits and five traumatized dogs who are about to undergo intense professional pre-adoption training. If anyone is able to help us with these significant upcoming costs, please donate to:

MEDIA IGNORES RACEHORSE DEATH

"Show Us Plenty" was the thirteenth racehorse to die on the tracks in Aotearoa this year. He was only four-years-old and was euthanised at Ashburton Racecourse earlier this month after breaking his humerus during a race. His death was not reported by mainstream media, nor was he mentioned on NZ Thoroughbred Racing's social media.

According to the Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses and other advocacy groups, horse deaths in the racing industry are grossly under-reported. These victims deaths must not be overlooked; we want each victim to be remembered and recognized for the individual that they were. Show Us Plenty was not a commodity, or a piece of sports equipment. He suffered tremendous pain before he was killed. He deserved better. His stable name was Red.

Please boycott horse racing as well as all other forms of animal exploitation, and join us to spread awareness about this abusive industry.

6,000 PEOPLE BYPASSED AMBER ? PLEASE SHARE

A month ago we advertised dear Amber and more than 6,100 people read her post... but sadly, not a single person inquired after her.

We know there is an ideal home out there for our nervous girl, so please help us to find it.

? RE-INTRODUCING AMBER ?

This beautiful 20kg, 4-year-old Whippet X Staffy came to us with bleeding paws from being dragged along the footpath when she was afraid to go with her "caregivers". She had suffered from physical abuse and was known in her street because she ran from house to house seeking refuge.

Due to her trauma, Amber has fear, noise and trust issues and is afraid of entering unfamiliar vehicles.

Our amazing volunteers have made incredible advances with her, but she now needs the stability of a routine home-life to progress further.

We are looking for a patient and kind home with an individual or people who will take time to know her, and who will actively work with her primary volunteer walker to raise her confidence, and win her trust.

Amber needs a cat and child-free home, but could thrive in the company of a welcoming, self-assured resident dog.

Once she is relaxed with our volunteers, Amber loves to go for walks, to fetch balls and frisbees, to splash in the water or to chill in their homes with them.

This intelligent little girl is bursting with potential, eagerness and hope.

If you live in the wider Auckland area, have a fully and securely fenced & gated property and would like the opportunity to shape and adopt this nervous soul, please contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Thank you. ?

NOTE: Being a no-kill rescue, we have several other waifs needing extra special foster-to-adopt homes. Inquiries to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
