Bertie the smiley Shih Tzu is a gorgeous 6-year-old who requires a "special needs" home where he will seldom be alone.
Due to a change in family circumstances, he is currently on his own for 10 hours a day, five days a week and most of the weekend. It’s a heart-breaking situation because Bertie loves being around people and has a non-aggressive, affectionate nature towards humans and other dogs. He enjoys walks on the beach and deserves undivided attention and care.
Bertie is at his happiest when he’s with his loved ones and is a playful, loving and caring little soul, who would suit an individual, couple or family with gentle older children.
This 9kg, neutered and micro-chipped ball of fluff will make you the centre of his world once a strong bond has been formed.
Due to Bertie's nervous tendencies, he will occasionally release fluid from his anal glands when strangers enter the home. To ease this anxiety, he currently takes a homeopathic remedy. He also suffers from back pain from time to time and has a daily Rimadyl to keep him comfortable.
