The NZ Institute of Environmental Science & Research and the University of Otago have announced that they will no longer shoot live pigs in the head in bloodstain-pattern research. Auckland University has also been conducting these tests but has made no such promise.
It’s common knowledge that the skulls of humans and pigs are very dissimilar, so not only is this a cruel practise, but data gained from these experiments is unreliable at best.
Please join us in asking Auckland University to permanently stop this brutality.
