A Home for Grieving Nelly Please

Middle-aged Nelly lived happily with another cat until her elderly caregiver passed away. When he died she was grief-stricken. She moped about in his bedroom, began fighting with her feline friend and toileting inappropriately around the house. This beautiful dark Tortoiseshell was taken to the vet for a lethal injection… and we were contacted.

Nelly is great at using her litter tray and is tolerating the dog and many cats in our shelter. Restricted to two meals a day, this vocal puss has started to lose her excess weight and now enjoys playing with strings and other toys. Although she’s not keen to be picked up or placed on a lap, Nelly loves attention and affection. Her favourite pastime is cleaning herself in a sunny spot.

We think Nelly would prefer to be Queen of her Castle, so a cat-free home would be best for her. Please e-mail us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you would like to adopt this grieving girl.
