NEWSFLASH

Thank you to each of you for your ongoing support and for forwarding my urgent newsflashes to your compassionate friends, family and colleagues. The quotation below by Margaret Meads comes to my mind each time one of you supports my work with animals in strife.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has. And if enough individuals took action, it would become a national movement.”

URGENT: HALFPINT & RASTA NEED A LOVING HOME...TOGETHER OR SEPARATELY

Halfpint

When his father was on his deathbed his son, Wil, promised him that he would take care of his three dogs for him after his passing. Wil has been managing this lovely trio in his suburban flat, but the landlord told him from the outset that they all have to go. In desperation Wil contacted me and has been searching for alternate accommodation. He is moving into a new flat next week where the landlord is allowing him to keep one dog only. That leaves senior dogs, Rasta and Halfpint, facing an untimely lethal injection and Wil distraught at the thought...

Rasta

Both dogs are toilet trained and have been accustomed to an optional indoor & outdoor lifestyle, where they sleep in the house at night; and this must be allowed to continue in their new home(s). They are both deserving of a loving caregiver’s time and affection and a happy retirement. If you have a securely fenced and gated property and can open your heart to one or both of these dogs for the rest of their lives, I very much look forward to hearing from you.

ROOSTER FED UP BEING COOPED UP

Cinnamon Cinnamon

In addition to pellets, this magnificent looking young rooster enjoys sprouts, cooked rice, leafy greens, apple, pear and persimmon, peas, grainy breads and just about anything else he is offered.

Like so many roosters before him, poor Cinnamon was callously and illegally dumped. He has a healthy crow, so will need a rural home where his caregivers don’t mind the sound of crowing or whose house is set a distance from the area where Cinnamon will live.

Three companionable groups of roosters are also looking for sanctuary. (A group of 5, a group of 4 and a group of 3).

URGENT: CUDDLY RUSSIAN BLUE X CAT NEEDS AN IMMEDIATE HOME

Ash Ash

On Wednesday, affectionate 6-year-old Ash had an abscess repaired at the base of her tail and her teeth were de-scaled and polished. Her caregivers advised the clinic that they can’t take her back because they cannot afford the upkeep of so many cats in their home.

She had been encouraged to live outdoors and was nervous about going inside with so many other cats. Ash loves human company, is spayed and would be suited as an indoor & outdoor house pet with no other animals.

Ash will be vaccinated, micro-chipped and flea & worm treated in preparation for her adoption. As soon as she has recovered from her surgery, Ash needs to leave the clinic.

If you have a suitably safe and loving home & plenty of time to stroke this friendly girl, please contact me.

STOP WHALE SLAUGHTER BECOMING LEGALISED

Whales

In Morocco, in a few day’s time, the International Whaling Commission will hold its final vote on a proposal to legalize commercial whale hunting for the first time in a generation. More than 650,000 of us have signed the petition to protect whales – let’s push that to 1 million.

Thanks to the worldwide outcry, many governments have already pledged to oppose the proposal.
