NEWSFLASH

Thank you to each of you for your ongoing support and for forwarding my urgent newsflashes to your compassionate friends, family and colleagues. The quotation below by Albert Schweitzer comes to my mind when we work together to free animals from their suffering.

“…There slowly grew up in me an unshakable conviction that we have no right to inflict suffering and death on another living creature, unless there is some unavoidable necessity for it”.

URGENT: JARVIS MUST BE OUT OF HIS HOME BY THIS SUNDAY 5th SEPTEMBER

Dear Friends,

The mother of this gorgeous 15-month-old boy was a purebred British Bulldog. Although it’s uncertain, his father is thought to be an American Staffordshire Terrier. Jarvis has lived with his current family since he was 10-weeks-old, but now urgently needs to be re-homed.

Jarvis Jarvis

He is no longer getting the company, exercise or training that he needs and, due to a house move, the new landlord has a no-dogs policy & has demanded that Jarvis must leave the property this weekend.

Although he is loved, Jarvis is lonely and unstimulated...and his lifestyle cannot be improved in the foreseeable future.

To prevent an unthinkable outcome for affectionate Jarvis, please contact me if you are able to foster or adopt this lovely boy before Sunday. Jarvis is currently in Auckland.

URGENT: BONNIE IS LANGUISHING IN A DOG POUND

So many beautiful dogs are killed in pounds when their “caregivers” don’t bother collecting them and no-one offers them a home within the usual 7 day holding period. If you are thinking of saving the life of an animal, please don’t look any further than shelters and rescue agencies.

Unless immediate interest is shown in her, Bonnie has no future because, tragically, her time in the facility is up.

Bonnie bonnie

Her breeding has yet to be determined, but it is thought this 7-9 month old girl may have some Boxer and Great Dane genes.

She is a strong, lean pup who is very playful and gets along well with other dogs. Please register your interest today if her life is to be saved.

URGENT: SENIOR CAT HAS LOST HER SENIOR CAREGIVER

Cleo

When Great Aunty Mavis passed away two weeks ago, her beloved tabby cat, Cleo, was mentioned at her funeral and in the obituaries. They were a closely bonded pair and now Cleo is left without anyone to care for her. No-one in Mavis’s extended family or their circle of friends has a suitable situation for this lovely cat who has only known the lady who cared for her since she was a little kitten 12-13 years ago.

Cleo has been living alone at Mavis’s property the past 3 weeks, coming and going through the cat door with a kind neighbour feeding her each day.

She has been used to a very quiet life, so I am looking for a similar situation for her on a street without much traffic. It would be ideal if a calm couple or a single person comes forward to adopt her.

Mavis’s house is about to go on the market, so an understanding home is sought before the property maintenance and spring clean begins.

Cat Ash: The Cuddly Russian Blue cat named Ash has received applications from several wonderful people. Sadly, most of them involved long distance travel or lived on busy traffic streets.
