NEWSFLASH

Dear Friends,

So many wonderful, homeless animals have been placed with ideal caregivers since our last newsflash. Please visit the HAPPY ENDINGS pages of our website to see who is now living in a loving home. Meanwhile many others are still waiting for help and caring guardians…

URGENT: VICTOR NEEDS OUR HELP FOR SURGERY

Victor requires a home, but he needs surgery before he can be adopted.

He is a very sweet, half-blind Greyhound X who licked my face and put his paw into my hand on the first day we met. Due to his own health problems and circumstances, “Vicco’s” devoted guardian can no longer care for him or contribute to the vet procedures this elderly gentleman needs.victor_headshot

His veterinary fee alone will amount to $1,700.00. Along with the usual neutering, micro-chipping, nail-clipping, blood tests, X-rays, urinalysis, etc, he needs dental extractions and lumps removed.

And there is a chance that vision can be restored to Victor’s remaining eye – at a specialist cost of $2,750.00. That would be fantastic, but could this amount possibly be donated for him?

To read all about this gorgeous senior citizen and to help raise the funds that will prepare him for a new retirement home, please click here We did it for Jake in April and I’m hopeful that, between us all, we can do it for Victor this month. Thank you in grateful anticipation!

MADORI IS A LOVELY PRIMA DONNA

Madori came into our care when her desperate rescuer found himself homeless and had

madori1to live in his car. For six months we waited while he searched for lodgings for them both. Although he now has somewhere to live, sadly, it is not suitable for Madori.

This healthy three-year-old girl is a delight – playful, cheeky, mischievous, and flirtatious. She has the most endearing quality of purring against our chests and wrapping her paws around our necks whenever we sit down. She takes this position as though it is her absolute right – and who could resist such loving attention and such a deliriously happy, closed-eyed face?

Madori likes to be Queen of her castle, so she needs to be the only, very spoiled, very indulged and very loved fur-child. Don’t expect her to share with dogs, cats or any other non-human animal.

URGENT: TRINITY NEEDS A GREAT HOME BY THIS FRIDAY 16th SEPTEMBER

Eighteen months ago, 3-year-old Trinity was rescued by a kind young woman named

trinity2Anna, who has recently moved back into the family home – where dogs are not wanted. Also Anna now has a busy lifestyle and has plans to travel which do not include this loving, active and playful girl.

Trinity loves to interact with people and dogs, but is a cat-chaser, so she cannot cohabitate in a home with feline flatmates. She must be allowed to spend time both indoors and out and sleep in the house with her human pack at night.

If you have good leadership skills and will formally commit to taking this energetic Lab X Staffy to basic group obedience classes, please click here and scroll down for more photos and information.

THREE SUPER PUPPIES READY FOR ADOPTION

Peanut is the only boy pictured here between his cute sisters - Princess who is mostly tan and Pickles who is predominantly black.pickels_princess_peanut

As soon as they have recovered from their recent de-sexing surgeries they will be available to applicants who will offer them homes as indoor pets with lots of outdoor walks and stimulation. Successful applicants will be very fortunate to adopt any one of these friendly puppies.

Loved and cared for from the day of their birth five months ago, these Lab X pups are all very affectionate, energetic, playful and have a love of walks – especially on the beach.

Attendance at a series of beginners group obedience classes is a condition of their adoption. For further information and many more photographs, please click here

BONNIE & CLYDE SEEK SAFE LODGINGS

Illegally dumped in a public park, Bonnie and Clyde saw one of their buddies killed by a dog and the other squashed on the busy road.

We quickly rescued this attractive pair and would like them to stay together because it’s clear that they are bonded friends. If you have a plan to stop them hatching out unexpected chicks each season and if you can keep them safe from hawks, dogs and poachers, please let me know. You would need to be zoned rural and have neighbours who wouldn’t mind hearing Clyde sing his joy to the world. For more photos and information please click here

I also have solitary roosters in need of somewhere to live. Do you have space on your property for one or 20 homeless roosters to sleep in your trees at night and be provided with food and water each day? It will need to be a hen-free zone.

GEESE MUST LEAVE PUBLIC PARK

Again we have been approached by council staff who, thankfully, opt for re-homing rather than slaughtering geese when the numbers become too big for them to manage.

We have found wonderful guardians for more than 350 geese over the years and we need life-long homes for up to 12 more of them now. My husband is pictured with one of 16 geese we helped rescue from Kell Park on Auckland’s North Shore when they began crossing the busy main road. Fortunately no geese and no humans were involved in a traffic tragedy before we were asked for help.

Do you have a suitable body of water for them to enjoy and plenty of grass for them to eat? If so, please apply. Thank you
