VET BILL RAFFLE RESULTS

prize

Thanks to the fantastic work and generosity of Animal Re-homing supporters, 100% of the tickets were purchased.

The winning ticket was bought by Nene Dale of Leigh (90kms north of Auckland), who pictured opposite, was delighted to choose the cat prize for her rescued babies Molly and Scab. Second prize was won by Mary Murray of Palmerston North. Mary adopted Spooky-Ghost, a death row pound dog through us in June 2010, but kindly donated the dog prize to Horowhenua Animal Rescue in Levin. Third prize was won by Marina Ander of Kaukapakapa in rural Auckland who rescued the three calves named Bobby, Sunday and Baby through us to prevent their slaughter. She will use her prize as a rescue enclosure for hedgehogs, chicks, orphaned kittens, sick chickens and other small animals.

For the first time in 11 years, all of our vet bills have been paid. In addition, some of the computer equipment has been updated and we are hoping there will be enough funds left to rip up the musty carpets and install wooden floors in one or two of the cat rooms.

The photographs below show the raffle stubs being tumbled in our dryer before being taken to the North Shore Policing Station to be drawn. Constable Liddy Humm is pictured drawing the prize-winners while I note their details.

As promised, at the upcoming National Animal Rights Conference $1,000 of the raffle proceeds will be presented to our chosen recipient whose buildings and resources were lost in the Christchurch earthquakes.

Our deep appreciation to all of our supporters who put their hearts and souls into ensuring this raffle would provide the funds needed to enable Animal Re-homing to continue its life-saving work. You have succeeded!

URGENT- VET BILL RAFFLE

raffle

200 animal-lovers needed to BUY & SELL TICKETS

With our vet bills currently totalling more than $4,000.00 and with rescue and computer equipment needing to be replaced, we have been forced to minimise our life-saving work with animals to run a nation-wide fundraising raffle. If just two hundred of our supporters can commit to selling one book of tickets, the necessary funds will be raised and $1,000.00 will be donated to victims of the Christchurch earthquake.

We would be so grateful if you could pre-purchase at least one book of 25 tickets for $50.00. With great prizes and tickets only $2.00 each, selling them to your friends and colleagues should be easy! The raffle closes on 30th June and will be drawn on 4th July 2011. Each individual butt will need to be filled in and returned to us before then.

Thank you so much for being a part of this project – with enough hands involved we will soon be unhampered in our endeavours to help more animals in strife…

The team at My Goodness Gift Baskets have kindly sponsored the wrapping of the major animal-related prizes donated by Masterpet. The photo above shows, from the left, husband and wife Adair Wheeler and John Devine and on the right are staff members Susana Hayes and Lesley Carroll holding her Jack Russell X Border Lakeland Terrier named Jack.

Lush (Botony branch) donated a range of personal care products, none of which contain animal ingredients or have been tested on animals. Included are shampoo, conditioner, shaving lotion, skin toner and hand & body lotion.
