PEARL IS STILL WAITING FOR AN ATTENTIVE HOME

UPDATE: 4th June 2023
Pearl is still waiting for an attentive home

This cuddly, three-legged girl is always reaching out for love... and we just can't provide enough for her at our busy shelter.

If you are able to offer 3-year-old Pearl a loving indoor home where she is the only cat, please come to meet her. Apartment dwellers welcome too.

Pearl is currently living in Auckland.

PROTECT THE BAN ON LIVE ANIMAL EXPORT

From today, Aotearoa New Zealand has banned live animal exports by sea. Kiwi's let the government know that they abhor the suffering caused by this brutal industry - and the New Zealand Labour Party listened.

However, the New Zealand National Party and the Act Party have both stated their intention to reverse the ban if they are elected to govern this year.

Please click on the image below to let them know how you feel about their cruel decision. Thank you.

A GREAT TURNOUT AT THE PROTEST

What a great turnout at the protest organised by Chained Dog Awareness NZ today. ?

Signs were displayed, submission flyers distributed to passersby, previously chained dogs greeted everyone, car horns barped in support, and public interest was high.

It was wonderful to see some of our volunteers there, along with other animal rescue charities who know from first-hand experience that life chaining of dogs is an abomination.

Please be quick to make submissions to the government before 5pm on the 15th March 2023. Guidance and tips on the facebook page of Chained Dog Awareness NZ.

We were also very happy to see Animal Justice Party Aotearoa NZ represented. This is the first political party ever founded to ensure the rights of animals are not forgotten. Please check out their website to pay a $5 membership before the upcoming elections.
