Animals can ease our grief

A little girl in grief at the loss of her beloved cat friend releases her pain and is comforted by the arrival of a kitten.

One of our fosterers has many rescued kittens awaiting adoption as soon as they are old enough... and we have many, many more beautiful adult cats who have been waiting much too long for a loving home to call their own.

Beautiful Baylie has been adopted

It’s with a joyful heart that we announce 10-year-old Baylie’s happy ending.

She is now fully immersed in a cheerful, stimulating home with an extended family of eight people and a canine friend for company. Her human friends range in age from 3 years old to 84 years… and they are all tripping over themselves for turns to feed and walk her. We are so delighted that everyone has fallen in love with our beautiful girl.

Baylie has established herself as the doggy matriarch with resident Boxer Rocco, and visiting Retriever Mikko both respecting her senior position.

Not only does Baylie have an ideal retirement home; she also has a new lease of life! Lucky Baylie, lucky family! How we love a happy ending…

Note from Baylie's original mum:
"I cannot thank you enough for all the time, energy and goodwill you have put into helping us re-home Baylie. Your care and concern for our canine companions humbles me - we are all most fortunate to have such a hard-working and kind-hearted soul as yourself working on behalf of our furry friends".

Happy Ending for Niki

Time to share yet another happy ending!

It was love at first sight when Claudia and Mark met Niki, our rescue German Shepherd X puppy. They flew through their interview and home inspection and had bought everything she needed - even before the adoption was formally approved.

Her new name Enake (meaning 'Alert') suits her beautifully. We are absolutely thrilled for this gorgeous little girl.

The Little Flock is finally adopted

Finally... a happy ending for The Little Flock!

When we rescued Little Brown Hen, Little Black Hen and Little Rooster from being killed in possum traps, we cared for them in our small, 'temporary' holding pen for 18 months while we searched for a fully predator-proof home for them.

In desperation, we asked The Animal Sanctuary if they would adopt them. Thankfully they said yes - and we were ecstatic when we saw the massive enclosure they had prepared. We are so grateful to everyone at The Animal Sanctuary.

The trio of tiny Bantam chickens was equally impressed with their new home, and Little Rooster strutted about as though he'd personally moved his girls into this awesome mansion.
