SEE UPDATE BELOW

Two of our beautiful dogs went missing on their walk at Sander's Reserve, Paremoremo today. Vernie and Buddy have not been seen since 10am this morning.

Please share this post widely and let us know if you are able to search the park and surrounding areas, put up posters or distribute flyers to letterboxes, beaches, parks and bush walks. Thank you so much for any help you are able to offer!

UPDATE: After eight hours Missing in Action, Buddy and Vernie came running across the mudflats at Chatham Reserve with mud all over their bodies. Vernie is covered in scratches and has a cut on his hind paw and both are now on their way to the vet for assessment. More news later!

Shocking footage from Whangarei Rodeo

No wonder we protest at rodeos!

Please boycott these cowardly shows. Don't fund this terrifying and brutal animal abuse disguised as 'entertainment'.

This footage was taken at the Whangarei rodeo two weeks ago while we joined a peaceful demonstration outside the arena.

Billie to the rescue for Ned & Sooty

UPDATE FOR NED & SOOTY!

Ned and Sooty are safe!

As I type, they are having thorough vet checks and dental treatments before going into foster care with a wonderful soul named Billie.

Huge thanks to our supporters for your concern, networking and offers of help. We will be in touch with those of you who are able to foster future cats for us and anyone who may like to adopt these lovely boys together.

Fosterers are animal life-savers, so please contact us if you would like to help in this way. E-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

URGENT Fosterer or home needed for Ned and Sooty

Urgent foster or retirement home needed in Auckland for two senior cats. Do you have a spare room to save their lives?

15-year-old bonded friends Sooty and Ned were dropped at a vet clinic for lethal injections and need immediate shelter. We are full to capacity but are desperate to help them by tomorrow.

These boys have never been separated, are neutered and very affectionate. The vet says they are in good health – and has offered to give them each a free dental if we're able to save them.

We couldn’t bear for them to be killed – they may have five or more years ahead of them yet. They are looking for a loving retirement home or temporary fosterer.

Do you have space to adopt or to foster Ned and Sooty? Please quickly contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

UPDATE: Ned and Sooty have been saved! :) Please contact us if you are able to offer them a permanent home or to foster other animals for us.

Thank you to everyone who supported this peaceful vigil to raise public awareness of the brutality of rodeo.
