Please help with our huge vet bills

Help! Due to our recent rescue of animals in need of surgeries, our vet bills have climbed towards $6,000 so we urgently need to raise some funds.

We are holding a fundraising street stand this weekend. If you are unable to support it, please make an urgent donation at http://test.animalrehoming.co.nz/help-us/donate

We will be selling a great selection of goodies and collecting donations this coming Saturday 12th December. From 9am – 5pm we will be next to Starbucks in Browns Bay Shopping Centre on the North Shore of Auckland.

Please come and say hello, buy our great products, help with the sales, give out flyers or take our donation buckets among the Christmas shoppers. Thank you so much to our fantastic volunteers who are already helping out.

Romeo has his forever home

When his doting caregiver passed away, Romeo was left sad and homeless. Fortunately his ailing mum had made arrangements with us in case she didn’t survive her illness. Romeo showered us with his wonderful affection and endearing clumsiness for nine months before one of our volunteers fell head-over-heels in love with him. Maggie’s lifestyle and property flew through our interview processes, so her family came to visit… and Romeo again proved himself equal to his name. Adoption anticipation was at fever pitch!

As soon as the house was ready with door & window signs, beds, scratch pole, litter trays and everything else a spoiled cat could want, Romeo moved in… and is as happy with them as they are with him. We are sure his previous mum is smiling from the heavens.

If you are looking to adopt a homeless cat, we currently have more than twenty under our umbrella. Please e-mail us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Climate Change Marches & International Conference

Leaders from almost 200 nations have assembled at the Climate Change Conference in France. The peoples of 175 countries around the world took to the streets to demand meaningful action.

New Zealander’s really do care about the devastating effects climate change is having on the environment, humans and animals. Massive crowds of protesters marched throughout Aotearoa over the weekend as part of the People’s Climate March New Zealand.

Animal Re-homing trustees joined 15 thousand campaigners in the Auckland march last Saturday. With the deafening sound of drums, whistles, accordions, guitars, singing and chanting; our political leaders were left in no doubt that their feeble attempts at curbing our polluting habits are hugely inadequate. Thumbs up to everyone who was involved in the marches!

Citizens speak up for suffering hens

Animal Re-homing was well represented at the Stop Craddock Farms street rally last Thursday. It was the beginning of a 7-day Environment Court process where Cradock’s will try to convince the Judge that they should build NZ’s biggest caged hen prison.

Around 70 determined protestors got up at the crack of dawn to be in Auckland’s CBD by 7.45am. It was a great rally – full of synchronised chanting, inspiring speakers, supportive toots from passing cars and a wonderful variety of placards.

Huge thanks to the organisers and to our volunteers for taking the time and making the effort to fight for battery hens. You all rock! smile emoticon

Here's our chance to make a difference

Here it is! Your chance to stop animal and human suffering this Saturday 28th November. See you there!

The repercussions of climate change on human populations are devastating. Even greater numbers of animal victims are suffering and losing their lives due to inaction by successive governments to take the issue seriously. Animals too are burning in fires, drowning in floods and losing their icy homelands.

Around the world and in 34 New Zealand locations, protest marches havebeen organised. In Auckland almost 3,000 people have already signed up. Check out the protest march nearest your town at:
